Weiser Reception - July 15, 2006

The reception was absolutely perfect here in Weiser. We had an amazing time with all of our friends in this beautiful Bed and Breakfast Victorian house. A big thanks to our friends and owners of the Broderson House - Bart & Rosa Bowling.

Roadtrip 2006

We just returned home from an exciting roadtrip with our future son Ben and of course Vanessa, Briana, Stephanie and her friend Brittany! We picked everyone up in Provo and then stopped in Vegas and then San Diego! We had our "ups" and "downs" and I can honestly say there was never a dull moment! All in all it was lots of fun and we just LOVE our family and our crazy life! Here are a few pics for all to enjoy! (Even though Ryan wasn't with us, I threw one in of him & Steph)

Briana achieves Academic Award

Briana was presented with a Academic Achievement Award at the Nagel Beverage Academic Achievement Banquet held April 24, 2006. Pepsi puts on a banquet for all of the Weiser High school students who maintain a 3.5 gpa for 3 consecutive semesters. They are invited to a sit down dinner along with their parents. We are so proud of Briana and her high achievement!

Benessa...The Engagement!

On Saturday evening March 25th, Ben Rucker proposed to Vanessa and she said "YES!" He brought her home to her apartment which to her surprise was decorated with 2 dozen red roses, rose petals scattered about, candles lit everywhere with Frank Sinatra singing in the background. Stephanie, Ryan, and their friend Brittany had decorated the apartment and were hiding the hallway with Ben's puppy "Cramer" which had Vanessa's ring and a sign around his neck that said "Will you marry Ben?". When Vanessa came into the apartment, Stephanie let Cramer out into the living room and he ran to Vanessa. Brittany was hiding behind the couch and got it all on video-tape. Ben's brother Nate and his wife Syd were also hiding in the back! The video shows tears from both...how sweet! If I can figure out how to post it, I will do so soon. They celebrated the night with Martinelli's and Cheesecake! Briana and I arrived on Sunday and will stay most of the week! Let the wedding planning begin!! They have a temple date of Saturday July 1st in the Salt Lake Temple at 10:00 a.m. with a garden reception later on in the evening in Provo. Details will follow soon! Stephanie and Vanessa sent me some great photos of their past week. They took Tiffany & Ryan some Costa food Tuesday night and played with the new set of twins for a couple of hours. They each picked their favorite twin and spoiled them all night. Vanessa says: "Steph is ALWAYS holding Lindsey. I'm ALWAYS holding Paige...so cute!!! :) Of course Lindsey is baby A and Paige is baby B."

March Madness

Greetings from Weiser!

While most of you are watching your NCAA Basketball Brackets everyday, we are just trying to keep up with our own family madness! Briana cheered the Wolverines on as the boys basketball team was robbed in double overtime by the poor officials in the game against Kellogg......whew...long story...but believe me, we should've won that one!

Briana continues to amaze us with her many talents. She recently learned to snowboard up at Brundage with her friends. She said she fell down a lot but still had lots of fun. She performed this last week at a High School Jazz Choir Concert and danced at our local carnival event called Cabin Fever. Last week a member of the Stake Presidency called her and asked her to speak in Stake Conference next week. Elder Bateman from the Quorum of the Seventy will be our visiting authority. She got right off the phone, went over to the computer and typed out a talk in 10 minutes. She's excited about speaking! Definitely her Father's child!

President's Day Weekend Fun

Temperatures in Idaho dropped down into the single digits this past weekend, but we were able to endure it because of the sunshine that came our way! The sunshine I'm referring to is a visit from Vanessa and her boyfriend Ben Rucker. We really enjoyed getting to know Ben. They met in December through a friend. Vanessa flew down to his home near Palm Springs over the Christmas break for his brothers wedding. He is the 2nd of 5 boys in his family. He served a mission in Japan 4 years ago. He even spoke to us in Japanese. We were impressed! He is almost finished with school and is graduating in April with a Bachelor's in Accounting. We had such a great time! Caran invited us over on Sunday and cooked us the most divine Sunday dinner. Thanks Daly's!!
